TORONTO — Last Friday, Restaurants Canada announced that The RC Show scheduled for February 27 to March 1, 2022 in Toronto will be pushed back to May 9 to May 11, 2022 as a result of surging Omicron numbers.

“Restaurants Canada wants to continue to support our industry through its revival and has decided not to cancel the event nor defer to virtual only, but instead will shift the RC Show dates to the month of May for this year,” said the association in an email.

On January 3, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the province would temporarily return to a modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Re-open. These new restrictions will be in place until January 26 when they will be re-evaluated based on trends in public health and health-system indicators. As a result of these new restrictions, meetings and event spaces, including convention centres, are to be closed to public events.
