Terra Nova Bakery and Pastry has been given a conditional pass by Toronto Health Inspectors

Terra Nova Bakery and Pastry, located at 2896 Dufferin St., has been issued a conditional pass on Feb. 3 due to 20 infractions. 

The bakery has been given the following infractions: 

CRUCIAL INFRACTIONS

• Failure to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Failure to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food. 

• Display potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4C and 60C. 

SIGNIFICANT INFRACTIONS

• Failure to maintain handwashing stations (liquid soap and paper towels). 

• Handwashing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers. 

• Food equipment not of sound and tight construction. 

• Utensils not free from cracks in contact with food. 

• Food equipment not of readily cleanable form. 

• Failure to sanitize multi-service articles after use. 

• Failure to maintain records of pest control measures taken. 

MINOR INFRACTIONS

• Food premises not maintained with food handling room in a sanitary condition.

• Food premises not maintained with clean floors in food handling room.

• Failure to ensure food handler in food premise wears clean outer garments. 

• Food premise not maintained to keep food-handling room free from equipment not regularly used. 

• Food premise not maintained with clean ceiling in food-handling room. 

• Food premise not maintained with walls in good repair in food-handling room. 

• Failure to keep sanitary facility in good repair. 

• Cloth not in good repair for cleaning food contact surface. 

• Failure to protect against entry of pests. 

OTHER INFRACTIONS

• Failure to ensure presence of food handler or supervisor during all hours of operation. 

The bakery has been given a notice to comply, according to the city website.
