York Region public health inspectors temporarily closed one food service establishment in Markham and charged eight others across the region under Ontario’s Health Protection and Promotion Act for the period ranging from June 10 to 16.
Foodie Boy, F28F, 4300 Steeles Ave., Markham, was closed June 14 when health officials determined the owner/operator failed to provide adequate protection against the entrance of insects, vermin or rodents.

Col. Mustard’s Bar & Grill, 23 — 16925 Yonge St., Newmarket, was charged June 14 for operating a food premise not maintained with food handling room in sanitary condition.
Elite Salads, 77 Doncaster Ave., Markham, was charged June 13 for failure to ensure completion of food handling training by food handler or supervisor.
Foody Mart, 1 — 5221 Hwy. 7, Markham, was charged June 12 for storage of potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.
Golden Lion Seafood Restaurant, 1A — 539 Bur Oak Ave., Markham, was charged June 10 for use of a dirty cloth for cleaning food contact surface.
Happy BBQ, 5E — 7750 Kennedy Rd., Markham, was charged June 14 for failing to protect food from contamination or adulteration.
