Dine Safe York: A weekly round-up of charges by York Region public health officials.
York Region public health inspectors closed one Markham eatery and issued charges to facilities in Keswick and Woodbridge for violations under the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act during the period from March 9 to 15.
Golden Palace Banquet Hall, 1 — 3225 Hwy. 7 E., Markham, was closed for two infractions March 11.
The owner/operator failed to maintain the food premises in a clean and sanitary condition and failed to provide adequate protection against the entrance of insects, vermin or rodents.

The business was reinspected March 12, but was not yet allowed to re-open by the time this article was published.
Offsides Sports Bar & Grill, 1-2 — 200 Simcoe Ave., Keswick, received two charges March 9: operating a food premise not maintained with food handling room in sanitary condition and failure to ensure presence of food handler or supervisor during all hours of operation.
Casa Dolce Casa Inc., 7890 Pine Valley Dr., Woodbridge, was charged March 10 for store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.
Charges do not necessarily result in failure of the health inspection; they simply highlight problems for which the establishments were penalized. The establishments are given a chance to get back into compliance and pass their health inspection.
