DINE SAFE TORONTO: 23 restaurants get conditional pass this week



This week, our Dine Safe Toronto list includes 23 conditional passes issued to food establishments by Toronto Public Health for crucial and significant Food Premises Regulation infractions.

One or more such infractions were observed at each noted establishment during inspections between Wednesday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Food establishments in this report include restaurants, food court vendors and takeout food locations.

CONDITIONAL PASS
ANCHOR BAR THE ORIGINAL BUFFALO WING, 636 DIXON RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Nov. 25.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

BARBURRITO, 4918 YONGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Nov. 25.

• Use food equipment not of readily cleanable form.

CAKEWOOD BAKERY & CAFE, 1571 SANDHURST CICRCLE

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 26.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

CASA DELUZ, 1571 SANDHURST CIRCLE

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 26.

• Refrigerate potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature above 4 C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Use utensils not of sound and tight construction.

• Use utensils not non-toxic in contact with food.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Hand-washing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

CHATIME, 1265 MILITARY TRAIL

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 22.

• Fail to ensure storage shelves designed to protect against contamination.

• Use hand-washing station other than for hand washing of employees.

• Fail to sanitize multi-service articles after use.

E.L. RUDDY CO. CAFE, 1371 DUNDAS ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 22.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.

EIGHTEEN30, 9 CLARENCE SQ.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 21.

• Use utensils not in good repair.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Nov. 26.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 22.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Use utensils not in good repair.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Mechanical equipment not designed to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

MORETTI GRIFFINTOWN, 328 WELLINGTON ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 26.

• Handle ice in unsanitary manner.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

• Fail to remove garbage when necessary to maintain sanitary condition.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Nov. 21.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

PIZZAIOLO GOURMET PIZZA, 123 SPADINA AVE.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 25.

• Maintain potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Provide water not under pressure in utensil washing area.

• Fail to sanitize utensils as often as necessary.

PIZZERIA MORETTI, 328 WELLINGTON ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 18.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 22.
