DINE SAFE TORONTO: 21 restaurants get conditional passes this week



This week, our Dine Safe Toronto list includes 21 conditional passes issued to food establishments by Toronto Public Health for crucial and significant Food Premises Regulation infractions.

One or more such infractions were observed at each noted establishment during inspections between Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Food establishments in this report include restaurants, food court vendors and takeout food locations.

CONDITIONAL PASS
CAFE 513, 513 MARLEE AVE.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 28.

• Use hand-washing station other than for hand washing of employees.

• Fail to sanitize multi-service articles after use.

CAFE BELONG, 550 BAYVIEW AVE.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Oct. 29.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

CAPITAL ESPRESSO, 1349 QUEEN ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Oct. 28.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 25.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4C and 60C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Use hand-washing station other than for hand washing of employees.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Use utensils not suitable for intended purpose.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 29.

• Handle ice in unsanitary manner.

• Store ice in unsanitary manner.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 23.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Hand-washing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers.

• Use dirty cloth for cleaning food contact surface.

HARVEY'S, 1521 YONGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 28.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4C and 60C.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

• Fail to remove wastes when necessary to maintain sanitary condition.

HOKKAIDO SUSHI, 245 EGLINTON AVE. E.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 28.

• Food premise maintained in manner permitting adverse effect on food.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Fail to ensure facility surface cleaned as necessary.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

• Refrigerate potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature above 4C.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 28.
