Flour sold in Waterloo, Heidelberg added to food recall, June 16, 2017

WATERLOO REGION — Flour sold in bulk food stores in Waterloo and Heidelberg has been added to a food recall warning issued earlier this month.

The newly recalled Robin Hood All Purpose flour was sold at Country Bulk store at 845 Weber St. N in Waterloo and Country Pantry Bulk Foods at 3048 Lobsinger Line in Heidelberg.

In Waterloo, the affected flour was sold from Jan. 19 up to and including April 21, with a product label starting with 0200473.

In Heidelberg, the affected flour was sold from Jan. 5 up to and including Feb. 10, with a product label starting with 2000660.

Various brands of all-purpose flour are being recalled due to possible E. coli contamination. Consumers should not eat the recalled products. Instead they should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports there have been reported illnesses associated with flour, but no confirmed illnesses associated with the products sold at the two local shops.
