Provincial Requirement |
At any time where there are six or more employees working on the premises, at least one supervisor must be certified in food safety and must be present. When there are 5 or fewer food handlers working there must be at least one supervisor certified in food safety. |

The operator and one employee in his/her absence must be trained in a food safety course approved by the Ministry of

City of Brantford: Within 60 days of employment Managers of all food service premises shall have a food handler certification certificate or its equivalent. City of Toronto: Owner/operator of high and medium risk food premises must ensure that there is, when the establishment is operating, at least one certified food handler working in a supervisory position in each area where food is prepared, served, processed, packaged or stored. |
