There have been no new cases of illness among 137 Pineview Elementary school students who were fed uncooked or undercooked chicken by the school’s lunch program last Wednesday.
Prince George School District superintendent Brian Pepper was quoted as saying Monday that, "As of today, five of the six students who were away are back at school. We don’t know why the sixth student is still away - it may or may not be related."
The uncooked and undercooked chicken strips were served by the school’s parent advisory council volunteer lunch program. The caterer/restaurant which prepared the chicken was closed Wednesday and is under investigation by Northern Health food inspectors.
